TriBeCa 2017 / NYC epitomises Sabine Wiedenhofer’s virtuous and intimate handling of glass as her chosen medium. Through the installation, she reflects on how NYC cherishes its past, while boldly and fearlessly moving forward into the future. By this, she captures the very nature of the so-called ‘Big Apple‘ whose vibrant atmosphere has turned it into one of the most iconic places in the world. Harnessing the characteristics of glass, Sabine Wiedenhofer presents a crystalline idea of the city, thus offering many different perspectives in an endless array of looking at - and through - the glass towers.
TriBeCa 2017 / NYC verkörpert Sabine Wiedenhofers virtuosen und intimen Umgang mit Glas als ihrem gewählten Medium. Durch die Installation reflektiert sie darüber, wie NYC seine Vergangenheit schätzt und gleichzeitig mutig und furchtlos in die Zukunft strebt. Damit fängt sie die Natur des sogenannten „Big Apple“ ein, dessen lebendige Atmosphäre ihn zu einem der symbolträchtigsten Orte der Welt gemacht hat. Sabine Wiedenhofer nutzt die Eigenschaften von Glas und präsentiert eine kristalline Vorstellung von der Stadt und bietet so viele verschiedene Perspektiven in einer endlosen Vielfalt an Blicken auf und durch die Glastürme.
