schlosskapelle merkenstein
It is one of Sabine Wiedenhofers passions: to create new forms, structures and a world of thousand different shining colours. Light is the base of her 5th dimensional creations.
She created the Schlosskapelle Merkenstein (a private owned chapel in lower Austria) chapel windows with a new version of her cube series - 4825 pieces of building glass blocks, a handmade production of Murano glass blocks at Berengo Studio/Venice, needed to be created for that spectacular outcome. Different kind of hights & depths and due to the fact that Wiedenhofer decided to work without any kind of lead brackets, the artist was able to create floating colour transitions, which spreads the sunlight through and in between each glass-block in thousands different kind of colour shades into the whole chapel.
